The Re-GZ (short for "Refined Gundam Zeta") was an attempt from Anaheim Electronics to mass produce the famous MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam from the Gryps Conflict and the First Neo-Zeon War. Because the transformation system was very expensive to mass produce, the Re-GZ instead is able to dock with a special Back Weapon System (BWS) to change to a Waverider-like form. Because the weapons of the Re-GZ don’t work when docked, the BWS is armed with additional beam weapons and missile launchers. Despite these changes, it was later decided that the Re-GZ was too expensive for mass production, so only the prototype was completed.
